A cabaret show that takes you through the twists and turns of Shaynna’s life through spoken word and song. 

The title Taking Back My Joy is taken from one of the songs on Shaynna’s EP release in 2024 and is incorporated into the show. 

“My story isn’t about a timeline but more about events that have had a defining moment in my life, good and bad that have helped me navigate not just the career that I have, but mostly what has defined me as a person. Life can take you through some pretty hard and sometimes shitty curve balls and what comes with that is lessons. It is how you embrace them that in the end defines who you are and to me, that is Joy”.

Taking Back My Joy is co-written with Martin Crewes, star of stage and theatre and screen in such shows as Wizard of Oz, Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and currently in the role of Larry Murphy, the new Australian production of Dear Evan Hanson.
