Gonzo / is about teenage boys and porn – specifically, how often they watch it, who they watch it with, and why.
In Gonzo, four teenage boys will get up close and personal to candidly reveal their relationship with porn. They’ll divulge alarming and uncensored perspectives that will make your jaw drop, as we delve into a squeamish – but long overdue – conversation about how internet porn is affecting adolescent boys.
Set to be our most talked-about show of the year, Gonzo lays bare the facts of modern life in the age of instant access to ‘adults-only’ zones. We suggest you leave your preconceptions at the door as Gonzo / pulls back the covers on teenage boys and porn.
***
Due to the sensitive material of Gonzo and the variables of devised and improvised theatre, St Martins and Malthouse Theatre have recommended this work for audiences 18+. The work is being celebrated by audiences with only one concern, that under 18s should engage with the work.
Our answer to that is: they can.
St Martins’ ethos is that adults and children are equals, so we welcome teenagers aged 15+ to attend Gonzo. Malthouse Theatre is pleased to offer specially priced tickets for under 30s.
Please be advised that the production contains graphic language and nude imagery.
A poll of nearly 700 12 to 13-year-olds reveals that … one in ten children is worried that he or she is addicted to pornography.
