CLARE BOWDITCH

Storyteller and musician Clare Bowditch is a nationally celebrated anomaly; an ARIA Award winning musician, an ABIA Award winning author, but more interestingly—a living breathing creative lightning rod of fearless curiosity, imagination, playfulness, and hope. These are the qualities that have underpinned all of her work, and led to her many and varied collaborations with so many of the finest musicians, artists and thinkers of our times.

So, what about the music? Why hasn’t she released an album in over ten years?

Mainly because, she’s been busy, playing; with her kids and pets and stories, yes, but also – with new sounds, instruments, stories, ideas, and questions.

Clare Bowditch has taken her time, and it seems, her time is now.

This one-off live performance at the Malthouse theatre in 2023 will be one of the world’s first opportunities to hear for themselves exactly what she's ‘been building in there’; an insight into where she wants her songs, stories and questions, to take us next.

Come—hear it for yourself.

ABOUT MOS

Malthouse Outdoor Stage is a general admission venue with standing areas and seating available at shared tables. We recommend arriving early to find a space that’s right for you. The Malthouse Bar is open before and during the show, and food is available from The Malthouse Cafe.

Melbourne's weather can change all the time—we recommend bringing a raincoat, wearing waterproof shoes, and bringing a small umbrella just in case. In the event that the performance is cancelled, we will contact you to inform you the next steps. Please note the seating area is not covered.
