In the heart of the Melbourne Arts Precinct, our historic theatre could be the uncommon venue your next occasion needs.
With original architectural features and adaptable spaces, it’s an extraordinary alternative to mainstream conference facilities and reception centres. Our unique spaces – including two theatres, rehearsal studios, meeting rooms, a bar and a café – have been used for all types of events, from meetings through to product launches and full-scale conventions.
MERLYN THEATRE
Ideally suited for drama, dance, music and opera–both contemporary and classical—as well as a unique venue for conferences, product launches and private functions.
It features an orchestra pit and flexible seating, with the ability to offer reserved and general admission attendance. The Merlyn Theatre can seat up to 500 patrons on three levels.

Beckett Theatre
In great demand for performances from all areas of the performing arts, the Beckett Theatre is also used for conferences and other similar functions. The maximum capacity for the Beckett Theatre is 175 patrons.
THE BAGGING ROOM
Host your next event or workshop in this large, bright space where the magic happens, and our shows take shape. The maximum capacity for the Bagging Room is 150 patrons.
THE PLAYBOX
This small space is perfectly suited for workshops and meetings. The maximum capacity for the Playbox is 40 patrons.
