The Book of Loco / is a familiar story. It’s one often shared between friends about the times in life that send us a little crazy: the breakdown of a relationship; the death of a parent. Told anew with warmth and humour by creator and performer Alirio Zavarce, The Book of Locointerweaves revealing and hilarious personal tales of losing the plot with shrewd observations of the insanity of society. With the help of the audience, Alirio will test his theory that sometimes you have to be mad to stay sane.

Winner of the Best Theatre Production Award at the 2013 Adelaide Fringe Festival, The Book of Loco is an immersive theatrical experience framed by projected animations. This is a show that / celebrates the madness within us all.

Zavarce delivers a surgically incisive, at times heartbreakingly poignant and resoundingly beautiful exploration of the world in all its ‘rational madness'
