Picnic at Hanging Rock on Tour

20 January 2017

Kicking off 2017 with a bang, the cast and crew team of 2016s Picnic at Hanging Rock travelled to Ediburgh's Lyceum Theatre to tour the hit production.

After checking out the theatre, our artistic team prepared for the retelling of this haunting Australian story in the dark Scottish winter.

Director Matthew Lutton spoke with BBC Radio Scotland and The Stage about Malthouse Theatre's adaptation and how this Australian story might be received by a UK audience.

On Friday 13 January, the show opened to a full house. And our cast celebrated accordingly with Lyceum Theatre director David Grieg.

We were excited to see how an international audience would react to a story so rooted in the Australian landscape, and have been thrilled to see the enthusiastic response from media and the general public.
